Southern Living Idea House 2012
A tired 1830s farmhouse in Senoia, Georgia was transferred into
Southern Living Idea House in 2012. The goal for both the designers,
builders and the architectural team was not an historical preservation
but a creation of a modern farmhouse that would blend the old with the new.
The design team needed to source a screen solution for the back porch
that would enable future homeowners to create a secluded outdoor living
area where to relax and dine in comfort. It was important to find a screen
product that provides the needed insect protection and offers relief from
the afternoon sun, plus blends with existing architecture and the period
style of the house.
Surface mounted Phantom's Executive motorized screens were selected to
help create a comfortable and elegant outdoor sitting area perfect for
both entertaining and quiet relaxing. The selected mesh type - Phifer's
18/14 insect mesh in charcoal finish - offers great visibility to the
outside while blocking unwanted insects from entering the screened area.
