Back Porch Makeover
- Overview:
- The back porch of this Maple Ridge home provides the homeowners a private sanctuary where to relax and enjoy the views to the adjacent farmlands. In order to better enjoy this outdoor space, the homeowners decided to double their existing porch to make it even more functional and roomy for having family and friends over.
- Need:
- As the backyard and the back porch open towards a large dairy farm, the homeowners needed to find a solution for their porch that would protect them from insects while enjoying the views and entertaining guests.
- Solution:
-
Ed Tielmann from Phantom Screens determined that Phantom’s Infinity Screens would be the best solution for this southwest facing porch. He installed nine sections of Infinity Screens in bronze finish that cover the width of the porch opening, enable the homeowners to enter and exit the porch without hassle, and provide insect protection. The flatness of the track provides barrier free access to the outdoors, and blend with the flagstones selected for the new porch.
Infinity Screens’ pleated mesh provides extra visibility, expanding to cover the porch opening and folding compactly out of sight when not in use. As any of the 3-foot screen panels can be designated as an entry or exit point, the homeowners can now make the most of their outdoor living space.
